Join the SVMF Guild for Lunch at the Spring House Tavern

The Shenandoah Valley Music Festival Guild continues its “nostalgia tour” of returning entertainers with a luncheon on Thursday, July 20 at the Spring House Tavern, 325 South Main St. in Woodstock. Gathering time is 11:30 am, with lunch served at noon. The cost is $20. The public is cordially invited to attend.

Returning artist will be singer-songwriter, Mary Lynn Flenner.  “ML,” as she is known to her friends, is a West Virginia native who has been an instrumentalist since age 5 when she started piano.  While growing up, she learned to play several other instruments.

Her background includes work with several bands, though she now performs solo. Four years ago, she began writing her own material and now has a repertoire of more than 40 original songs. Her writing covers many genres and her lyrics reflect her life experiences, as well as current events.

ML states that while she could not imagine a day without music, she still finds time to teach a computer class in Martinsburg and to care for her family of one husband, five dogs and six cats in their Inwood, W.Va.,  home.

The Spring House Tavern menu features a choice of the following:

STEAK QUESADILLA  filled with grilled Grade A  Angus beef, corn, black beans, roasted red peppers, red onions and cheese. It is served with sour cream and salsa.

[Quesadilla may also be served as a vegetarian option.]

CHICKEN SPINACH SALAD consists of grilled chicken breast, fresh baby spinach, gorgonzola cheese, black olives, mushrooms, hard boiled egg wedges, craisins and candied walnuts, accompanied by a warm bacon vinaigrette dressing.

CRAB CAKE PLATTER includes a housemade Maryland-style crab cake served over fresh greens, coleslaw, lettuce and tomato and chips.

Coffee, tea, lemonade and soft drinks complete the meal.
