The Shenandoah Valley Music Festival Guild will hold its annual Member Appreciation Luncheon on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019 at Bryce Resort at Basye.
Arrival time for conversation and libation is 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at 12:15 p.m. Guild member appreciation cost is $15; non-member cost is $20. The public is cordially invited to attend.
The holiday buffet will be served in the festive resort dining room and will feature:
House salad made of fresh greens, house raspberry dressing, bread and butter;
Cider glazed pork loin, garnished with baked apples;
Sesame crusted salmon with wild rice;
Resort green beans with sliced red peppers and slivered almonds;
Festive yule log for dessert;
Beverages: coffee, tea or lemonade.
Cash bar of beer, wine and spirits will also be available.
The after-lunch entertainment will be provided by the Central Tones, a 15-member student-led ensemble from Central High School in Woodstock. The group rehearses once a week. They also do their own auditions and develop their own repertoire.
The Central High School music program is under the direction of Rebecca H. Cooper, a 23-year veteran Shenandoah County music teacher. A native of northwest Pennsylvania, Rebecca received her music degree from West Virginia University, with advance study at St. John University and with Dr. Carol Krueger’s “Developing the Independent Musician” program.
A tip basket will be available in support of the county schools’ music program. Checks should be made to Central High School, with “Music Department” in the memo line.
